Bases 2009 success

Exeter wins awards for the best presentation by a senior investigator and the best student oral presentation at the BASES 2009 Conference in Leeds.

For the third time in five years, Professor Andy Jones was presented with the Sportesse Award for the best presentation by a senior investigator at this year’s BASES Conference, for his paper entitled ‘Dynamics of muscle blood flow and muscle O2 uptake during low-intensity and high-intensity knee-extensor exercise in humans’.

Postgraduate student Stephen Bailey was also successful, winning the Elsevier Award for best student oral presentation for his paper entitled ‘Influence of repeated sprint training on pulmonary O2 uptake and muscle deoxygenation kinetics in humans’.
