£447,000 research grant awarded to Dr Hillsdon

Dr Melvyn Hillsdon has been awarded a grant of £447,401 by the National Prevention Research Initiative (NPRI) for a study titled 'The feasibility of a simple, low-cost, general practitioner delivered intervention to promote physical activity'.

The NPRI is managed by the Medical Research Council on behalf of the funding partners which include government departments and medical charities. The initiative supports research into the prevention of chronic disease, exploring interventions which will have a positive impact on health behaviours and reduce the risk of developing such diseases.
