Times and Guardian Glory for Sport and Health Sciences

Head of the School of Sport & Health Sciences Professor Roger Eston said: "This is a fantastic achievement! This is worthy recognition which reflects the wide-ranging efforts that we have made to contribute to the University’s remarkable achievement of 9th place in the UK."

The School of Sport & Health Sciences has also been rated one of the top three schools of its kind in the Guardian University Guide 2010. The Guardian ranked the University of Exeter as the third best place in the UK, for the second year running, to study sports science, giving it a score of 99 out of 100.

The league table took into account a number of different factors, including the quality of teaching research, Campus facilities and the overall experience for students.

Head of the School of Sport & Health Sciences Professor Roger Eston said: “We are thrilled with this result. Following our success in the National Student Survey, in which we’ve come first for the past two years, it is fantastic to have yet more confirmation that we are doing well. We pride ourselves on offering the best experience to students while building a reputation for world-class research. Being in the top three in the Guardian University Guide is testament to the hard work of our staff and students.”

Overall, the University of Exeter was listed 13th in the Guardian University Guide, placing it comfortably in the top 15 UK universities.

The School has also been ranked 5th place in The Independent's Complete University Guide 2010.
