Best poster prize for Sam Vine
PhD student Sam Vine won the best poster prize at the International Surgical Congress of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI), on 14-16 April 2010.
The study was entitled: 'The use of gaze analysis to understand the visuomotor control of novice and expert laparoscopic surgeons performing simulated tasks', and was Highly Commended by the conference panel. It also won the best poster prize in the category 'Simulation and Technology in Surgery'.
The research is a collaboration between the School of Sport and Health Sciences, Hong Kong University, and surgeons at Exeter RD&E and Torbay Hospital, and is funded by the ESRC and RGC
