Premier League for Sport and Health Sciences

Sport and Health Sciences at Exeter has been rated one of the top three schools of its kind for the third year running in The Times Good University Guide 2011 and The Guardian University Guide 2011, ranking 1st in the UK for Sport Science by The Guardian.

This outstanding achievement is mirrored by an equally impressive performance in the National Student Survey, in which the School has again remained in the UK’s top three Sport Sciences departments for the last three years.

Such rankings represent an assessment of quality across a multitude of areas. The Times league table considers four different factors when ranking subjects: research quality, student satisfaction, entry standards and graduate employment prospects. The National Student Survey gathers feedback on teaching quality, assessment, academic support, organisation, learning resources, personal development and overall satisfaction.

To maintain such a high position is a testament to the School’s efforts to continually enhance the student experience. Head of School, Professor Roger Eston, said: ‘ What a great result!  It’s fantastic to sustain such a highly ranked position to recognise the overall quality of sports science at Exeter over the last three years.  This further confirms our commitment to providing the best possible experience for some of the best students in the country and the best possible chance of getting a job once they graduate.
