Research hopes to help children with motor coordination problems

Researchers in the Sport and Health Science department at the University of Exeter are running a project examining the motor coordination of children who suffer from motor coordination difficulties. The project is funded by the Waterloo Foundation, and tests the benefits of an intervention that may help to improve motor coordination among children.

We are seeking 8-10 year old children who suffer with developmental coordination disorder (DCD) or other motor coordination disorders. In the first instance, we are looking to recruit children from Exeter, Staffordshire and Cheshire.

If you are interested in taking part then please contact Dr Greg Wood (email: g.wood@exeter.ac.uk or phone 01392 722896).

All children will have their motor coordination assessed and be provided with a training intervention designed to improve their motor coordination. You will receive performance feedback and £10 in Amazon vouchers for your participation.

Date: 20 February 2013
