PhD Student wins two researcher awards

PhD student George Jennings was awarded on Friday 12th June 2009 for the 'best presentation' at the 3rd International Conference for Qualitative Research in Sport and Exercise held at the Roehampton University in London, in association with Routledge.

He will receive £100 and a chance to publish the conference paper in the recently established journal Qualitative Research in Sport and Exercise alongside his supervisor Dr. David Brown. George's presentation was entitled: Cultivating a Martial Habitus Through Partner Training: The Examples of Tai Chi and Wing Chun Kung Fu.

George also won the Effective Researcher Award for Excellence 2009, which was awarded by the University of Exeter in recognition of his continued professional development as a PhD researcher. He recently received a certificate signed by Professor Robert Van de Noort, the Dean of the Faculty of Research, and a cheque for £100.
