Malika Felton
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Office hours: Malika works part-time Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
Overview
I joined the University of Exeter in 2021 working as part of the Moving Through Motherhood research team, led by Richard Pulsford. The project is funded by the GW4 Alliance and is an investigation of the experiences of physical activity during pregnancy and after childbirth. We are using a co-design method to investigate current physical activity guidance for pregnant women and new mothers and ensure it suits the needs of the women.
Alongside this role I am in the final months of completing my PhD titled The influence of pregnancy upon acute cardiovascular responses to slow and deep breathing. I also work as a Lecturer in Health and Exercise Physiology at Bournemouth University.
