Raysa joined the University of Exeter in 2021 as a Lecturer in Nutrition after completing her PhD in Nutrition and Dementia at Bournemouth University. Her thesis evaluated a dietary intervention using Coconut Oil and its effect on cognitive decline during ageing for dementia prevention.
Raysa is a public health nutritionist and her research and work exeperience is multi-disciplinary. Her interests are in Nutrition and healthy aging, especially cognition and dementia prevention. She is also interested in person centered care and the humanisation of healthcare.
She is currently researching the effect of dietary ketosis on cognition in older adults to reduce dementia risk. In her research, she used quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods approaches.
