Dr Patrick Oades

Dr Patrick Oades is a Consultant Paediatrician at the Bramble Ward, Royal Devon & Exeter Foundation NHS Trust (Wonford), Exeter, Devon. In collaboration with the Children’s Health and Exercise Research Centre (CHERC) and Sports and Health Sciences, he is the local clinical lead for a variety of exercise physiology related research projects, e.g., the influence of chronic chest disease in children and adolescents on oxygen uptake kinetics, lung and respiratory function following simulated exercise. Various PhDs are supervised by Prof Craig Williams which have informed the literature about the utility of exercise testing and prescription for young people with CF.
