I have recently graduated from the University of Bath where I studied Sport and Exercise Science with Professional Placement. For my placement year I came to CHERC to work as a research assistant and gain experience in the research environment including vascular research and the measurement of cardiorespiratory fitness in children and adolescents. My final year dissertation project compared the postprandial lipaemic response of co-ingestion of either fructose or galactose with a mixed macronutrient meal in non-obese females.
I have now returned to CHERC to complete a Masters by Research investigating the impact of prolonged sitting on vascular health in adolescents and strategies to attenuate the likely detrimental effects.
