Success in Students' Guild Teaching Award nominations

Psychology staff have received nominations in three categories for this year’s teaching awards.

The teaching awards are run by the Guild and give students a chance to acknowledge their favourite academic staff at the University and say ‘thank you’ to those staff who go above and beyond what is expected of them. These awards do not take account of seniority, only the positive effect academics have on students.

Psychology staff have received nominations in the following categories:

Head of Discipline Professor Ian McLaren said: "We are delighted to see the hard work and inspirational teaching provided on a daily basis by the staff in Psychology recognised by these nominations. As a discipline we are always seeking to innovate and raise our standards in terms of educational practice. To have three staff nominated this year for teaching awards is an outstanding achievement, and much appreciated by everyone in Psychology at Exeter."

Now in their third year, the Students' Guild Teaching Awards have smashed all previous records receiving 2,021 individual nominations for 636 individual members of staff.

Following the publication of the shortlist, the winners will be announced at a ceremony in the University’s Great Hall on 3 May 2012.
