Success in Students' Guild Teaching Award nominations

Sport and Health Sciences staff have received nominations in five categories for this year’s teaching awards.

The teaching awards are run by the Guild and give students a chance to acknowledge their favourite academic staff at the University and say ‘thank you’ to those staff who go above and beyond what is expected of them. These awards do not take account of seniority, only the positive effect academics have on students.

Sport and Health Sciences staff have received nominations in the following categories:

Head of Discipline Professor Andy Jones said: “We are absolutely delighted by the number of nominations we have received for this year’s Students’ Guild Teaching Awards is fitting recognition of the commitment of all our staff in providing a student educational experience of the highest quality.”

Now in their third year, the Students' Guild Teaching Awards have smashed all previous records receiving 2,021 individual nominations for 636 individual members of staff.

Following the publication of the shortlist, the winners will be announced at a ceremony in the University’s Great Hall on 3 May 2012.
